Dr. Reuben P. Anderson, Sr. is the Senior Pastor and Founder of the Tower of Faith Evangelistic Church in Compton, California.   He began the ministry in 1972 with 15 members, and is now one of the largest congregations in the city of Compton.   Dr. Anderson is committed to teaching biblical principles in a manner that persons are able to apply them to their current situations and everyday challenges.  His mission is to assist with the revitalization of the City of Compton, renew the hopes of its citizens and reawaken the dreams of a better future by empowering the members of the community to become self-sufficient.

Community outreach is one of the focal points of the ministry. Dr. Anderson has been instrumental in facilitating the implementation of a myriad of outreach programs and ministries to meet the needs of its members and citizens of the City of Compton and surrounding communities.  In 1997, he established through the Tower of Faith, the Economic Development Corporation a legal, accredited, non-profit organization with the mission and purpose to provide Community Outreach Resources (COR) to the City of Compton and surrounding areas.  Some of the outreach programs include:

• Los Padrinos and Norwalk Juvenile Facilities
• Union Rescue Mission
• His Hands of Love – a group committed to feeding the hungry and helping the needy through food distribution and giving of clothing, blankets, hygiene items for men, women and children.

Dr. Anderson’s involvement and service to community organizations encompasses his serving on several boards.  Currently he serves on:

• Chairman, of Tower of Faith’s EDC – oversees the Christian Academy and Day Care Center, Community Outreach Resources and Tower Homes Development Corporation.
• Serves as an Administrative Assistant to Bishop Charles E. Blake – First Jurisdiction of Southern California of the Churches of God In Christ.
• Serves as Superintendent of West Angeles District of COGIC, First Jurisdiction of Southern California
• Member – Pastors For Compton (PFC)

Dr. Anderson’s is a sought out preacher and teacher of the gospel.  He is anointed, dynamic, and theologically relevant.   His love and passion is the scriptures.  His charge is to make sure that the truth of the scripture is made known.
 
In 1995, Dr. Anderson was a recipient of an award for “The Top Ten Greatest Pastors” in Los Angeles from the National Congress of Racial Equality.   He is the recipient of several commendations through the local city government for his community service.
 
Dr. Anderson has been married for 39 years to Nettie Anderson, who is an anointed singer in her own right, and has two children.   He received his Bachelors Degree in Theology from Life Bible College of Los Angeles.  He received a Masters Degree in Theology, from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California.  He received his Doctorate of Humanities Degree from Payne Bible Institute.
